A monthly round up of all things Westwell Players from our Secretary, Sita Turner

Rehearsals for Gym Bunnies, our next murder mystery play are well underway, and the cast are having quite the workout on stage! We are delighted to welcome back Mary Anne Pitt to the stage after a brief hiatus. Mary Anne will be joining Elaine Lander as new additions to the cast and I have thoroughly enjoyed re-writing parts of the script to accommodate their new characters.
As this is a murder mystery, we are seating the audience around tables so you can solve the murder in teams. Your ticket price will include a sit-down meal in addition to our usual bar service. Tickets will go on sale on Monday 31st March and can be purchased via the website. Owing to the different seating arrangement, we are running at a lower capacity than usual, and therefore we are encouraging people to buy their tickets as soon as possible.

We’ve had an exciting start to our social calendar too and I couldn’t write this without mentioning our friends at Pluckley Ghost Walks who were incredibly accommodating to 10 of our bravest members. We were given a fascinating tour of Pluckley and treated to some particularly gruesome tales, while keeping a close eye on our ghost monitors for any unusual activity. Even the sceptics amongst us enjoyed the tour and some are even going back for a second dose later this month!

Finally, we are thrilled to welcome our newest member of the Westwell Players to the stage, Jack Perring, who will be making his debut as the character of Josh in ‘Gym Bunnies’. Jack brings an array of acting experience to the stage and has already impressed us with his characterisation and energy. We can’t wait to see how he develops the character over the next few weeks.
In the meantime, brush up on your Poirot, watch a few episodes of Midsomer Murders and come armed with your best detective skills when ‘Gym Bunnies’ comes to the Westwell stage on the 15th, 16th and 17th May.
